This isn’t what it looks like.

Ok yeah it is, but I’m trying to keep it on the DL because Kristina P says that uttering the “g”-word might possibly get me thrown into blog jail forever. And I’m not talking about Baby G.

So can you guess what today is!?

I bet you had no idea that was about to happen. To me, nothing says blog milestone quite like the most majestic animal the world has ever known vomming out a rainbow. Thanks Google.

I feel like it was just yesterday that I hit 100 posts, so either this year is going by REALLY fast, or I have a whole lot to say…or a little bit of both. My blog isn’t even a year old yet! But to be honest, the reason I write as often as I do is because I love interacting with all of the awesome people in the blogosphere. I’m talking about you, natch.

All ridiculous, rainbow hurling unicorn graphics aside, to celebrate my big day and to say thanks to you guys for hanging out over here, I have something super pretty to…pass on…to one of you. Recently I fell in love with an Etsy shop (don’t tell my husband) called Pinking Edge Designs. She specializes in lovely and unique pieces of jewelry, all of which I am so fond of that it took pretty much all last weekend for me to pick out which one I wanted to…well you know.

I have to tell you that it will pain me slightly to send this necklace off to live with someone else because I am absolutely head over heels for it.

I LOVE OWLS. They are wise and awesome and you will be too if you wear this sweet little (or actually rather large) vintage pendant. He measures about 3.5″ tall, has a jointed body, and hangs from a long chain. I’ve named him Hooty. One of the stipulations of receiving him is that you must keep his name.

(I’m kidding. You really don’t have to. But his name is Hooty.)
