Hi there!
My name is Salt. If you wanna know why, feel free to ask. I am a thirty-two year old newlywed living in Charm City, otherwise known as Baltimore, or the city with the 2nd highest homicide rate in the US! Charming!
(Detroit beat us again!)

For my job, I am a graphic designer. Some of my favorite things include long walks on the beach, pina coladas, getting caught in the rain…ok seriously…art, music, yoga, fashion, cats, cat fashions, shopping, Blythe dolls, beer, football (GO RAVENS!), York Peppermint Patties, traveling, Scrabble, orange Tic Tacs, Target, baking, sushi, chick lit, the Twilight Saga (Team Jasper!), horror movies, and watching them at home on our big TV.
I also like blogging or else I guess I wouldn’t be here. Here is a sweet pie chart I made outlining typical blog topics you will see on Salt says…

I’m sarcastic and kind of hyperactive and tend to laugh at times when it’s completely inappropriate. I also just realized I spelled “seriousness” wrong and am far too lazy to fix it. Sorry.

This handsome gentleman that looks like he is taking his first steps is my husband. Around here we call him M and sometimes Dragon. He works in retail (which means he has the patience of a saint – totally necessary if you are going to be married to someone like me), has a light saber collection, and does a mean impression of Christopher Walken.
We got hitched in Turks & Caicos on February 27th, 2010.
We also live with these two fuzzy fools:

The black one on the left who is all, “get your ass out of my face” is Oskar. He is 4 years old and I rescued him when I lived in California. The one on the right who is clearly in need of an attitude adjustment is Grover, otherwise known as Baby G. We rescued him as a kitten last July and he’s kind of a jerk and a total attention whore, but we love him anyway.
So that’s me. Welcome to my little corner of the internet and I hope you’ll stay awhile!

I love your blog, soo cute! but I can’t figure out how to follow you!
If you don’t mind email directions haha

Thanks so much!
You know, I have absolutely no idea how to do the follow thing for this site. It’s one of the things that I like so much more about Blogger than WordPress. I think maybe you can subscribe to my RSS feed under the header that says FEED ME? (Yeah I thought I was clever when I made that one up haha.)
I added you to my Blogroll though! I really dig your site and I’m so happy you stopped over to mine! I love finding other brides in the blogworld.

hey I found a way to add an e-mail subscription to my page I think I found it under the widgets…I hope it works better than the feeds.

Thank you! I’ll have to try that out. The feeds are kind of a PITA.

If you are using blogspot (blogger), there is a way to add wordpress blogs to your list.
On you blogger dashboard under ‘reading list’ scroll down to ‘add’ then you can add the url of the blog you want to follow
Hope that helps!

I just read this and honestly I make it past “Dragon’s” Christopher Walken impersonation line without laughing to myself. Ugh, it’s the best!!! Like, pee my pants laughing good!

Alright, I wanna know why you are called Salt
And I’d love to know what the ‘M’ stands for in regards to your fiance…if it’s Mike, that will just be creepy
Monday, February 1st 2010 at 7:42 pm |
I love when things are creepy! Yes, his name is Mike.
Salt is a shortened version of an old nickname: “Veruca Salt”. As in the spoiled bratness from Willy Wonka. I like to think as an adult I’m not like that anymore, but it just kind of stuck forever. M still brings that nickname out sometimes if I’m in a particular mood.

this is weirder and weirder…if you tell me your birthday is in August I think I will just have to fly on out and see if maybe we are actually clones
I love the backstories to nicknames. That’s a funny one. I bet you were such a joy as a child
Monday, February 1st 2010 at 10:48 pm |
Hahaha I don’t think I’ve ever been referred to as a “joy”. Hmmm I’ll have to ask my mom about that one.
Nooope my birthday is in March. (Coming up kind of soon actually.) M’s is in August though!

OMG – I FREAKING LOVE the pie chart… can NOT believe I haven’t seen it before (come across this particular page)?!?!?!?! Do you live “right” in Baltimore? My sister lives in Severna Park… I lived in Annapolis (on the cobblestone streets… prob. one of my most favorite places in the WORLD!), and I worked at Hopkins in ’96. i am committed to swinging by to see MY FAVORITE PEOPLE (including you!!!) way way way more often. I’ve had a horrible 3 months (in more ways than one… but esp. since my mom died), but am trying to get back on track.
Miss yoU!! Hugs, Kat
